Practicing Generosity

Last week, Pastor Norm Willis gave an incredible message entitled, Distinguising Generosity. The premise of the sermon was how we are to love others through being generous. More than just giving money, generosity was to be practiced through our love and care for others.

After the message, we were all challenged to ask for specific opportunities in how we can practically apply this message. Our home group had an incredible opportunity to apply the message Thursday as we went out and blessed four families in the church with loads of groceries, housing, baby, and filling other practical needs.

The other day I was contacted by a friend, Shawn Ronning, who asked if I knew of anyone who had a car his wife could use to get around town in. Here is an exerpt from our conversations that I think will show the generosity in his heart and desire for any help:

“I am not really picky about what it is just as long as it is reliable. I am in a position financially that it would have to be a loaner or I could make small payments. We have decided that we would use the car to bless somebody else after we got back on our feet. God is so amazing and he has blessed my family in so many ways and I am following his call on my life and I take each step in faith knowing he will meet me, but this is a big one for me asking for help is something I have never really done.”

So, with that said, do any of you have a car you could loan Shawn? As he said, it does not need to be anything fancy, just needs something reliable. If you do not have a car he could borrow, do you know anyone you could pass this request onto?

Here is an excellent opportunity to practice generosity and truly walk this message out!

Thank you everyone!

Kyle,

PS. If you, or someone you know, is able to lend a car or give a car to Shawn, please contact me directly here so I can put you in communication with Shawn. Thanks again for hearing this need and distinguishing yourself through generosity!
